Sir Elton John Welcomes Zachary Jackson Levon On Christmas Day
Sir Elton John, 62, and his partner David Furnish, 48, welcomed a boy on Christmas Day, born via surrogate in California.
The newborn’s name is Zachary Jackson Levon. Fans of Elton John’s music will recognize the name Levon from the title of one of his songs.
Taking a look at the names in detail: Zachary, of course, is the Anglicized version of the biblical name Zacharias, meaning “remembrance of the Lord.” The name Jackson is simply an adaptation of the English surname, which means “son of Jack.” Levon is an Armenian variant of the name Leon, from Greek, meaning “lion.”
