Kate Hudson On Being A Young Mom

Kate Hudson is finally seeing that she truly is a young mom. Although she admits that when she had her first son, Ryder, at the age of 24, she didn’t feel young. This past Sunday she met with press for her new movie, Something Borrowed, and shared her thoughts, “I didn’t feel like I was having a baby young … he was my family’s first grandkid and to me it just felt normal.”

Now that Hudson is 32 years old, she realizes just how young she really is to be a mom. She say’s, “As I started getting older, as he started getting older and I was 28, 29, I was like, ‘Wow. I’m a young mom.’ It started hitting me.” However, she show’s no regrets and is as happy as ever, “I’m so happy that I had a child so young. He is my buddy.”

Hudson is grateful for having a child in her early 20’s and say’s that it caused less panic for her as she entered into her 30’s. Looking on the positive side of an early pregnancy, Hudson explains, “I have a lot of girlfriends who are in their thirties, haven’t been married and don’t have a kid, and it’s difficult for them because they really want a family.” However she encourages them that there is still plenty of time and adds, “I think 40 is a little bit of a bigger birthday for women.”
