Actress Vera Farmiga Welcomes Daughter Gytta Lubov
Academy-Award nominated actress Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air) gave birth to her second child, a daughter, on November 4. Farmiga, and husband Ren Hawkey, chose the name Gytta Lubov for their daughter, who joins big brother Fynn at home.
The name Gytta is of Germanic origin, sometimes spelled Gitta, and is fairly common in central and eastern Europe. Her middle name, Lubov, reflects Farmiga’s Ukrainian heritage. Lubov, more commonly spelled Lyubov or Liubov, is a Russian and Ukrainian name, meaning “love” or “beloved”. According to Wikipedia, Farmiga’s mother’s name is Luba.
